Dato’ Siew Ka Wei was appointed as the Chairman of Tourism Malaysia on 21 September 2016. He is an active leader in the corporate world, currently serving as the Group Managing Director of Ancom Berhad since July 2003, and previously as the Group Managing Director of Nylex (Malaysia) Berhad and the Executive Vice Chairman of Ancom Logistics Berhad, among others.

He was the Chairman of the Malaysian Chapter of the Young Presidents Organisation (YPO), an international grouping of more than 23,000 CEOs and leaders of major companies and organisations from all over the world. He became a director of the International Board of Directors of YPO in 2000 and served until 2003 during which he was the Chairman of YPO’s Global Leadership Congress held in Beijing, China.

Dato’ Siew has extensive working experience of more than 30 years in the field of petrochemicals, locally and internationally. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree in Chemical Engineering and a Master of Science degree in Operational Research from the Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine, London, United Kingdom.

In April 2013, Dato' Siew was conferred an honorary degree as a Doctor of Business Administration honoris causa by HELP University. In addition, he is the President of the Imperial College Alumni Association of Malaysia and a Governor of the Board of Governors for Marlborough College, Malaysia.

Dato’ Zainol Abidin Omar was appointed as the Deputy Chairman of Tourism Malaysia on 17 August 2015. He was appointed to the Administrative and Diplomatic Service of Malaysia and served as Assistant Secretary (Economic) at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1981. Since then, Dato’ Zainol has had an illustrious career with the Ministry.

He has served in various capacities and divisions, including the Second Secretary of the High Commission of Malaysia in Islamabad, Assistant Secretary (International Organisations), Principal Assistant Secretary (Americas), Counsellor for the Embassy of Malaysia in Washington D.C., Principal Assistant Secretary (Policy Planning), Counsellor for the Embassy of Malaysia in Brussels, Under-Secretary (Regional Cooperation, Social and Cultural Division), and Ambassador of Malaysia to the Republic of Cuba with concurrent accreditation to The Bahamas Dominican Republic, Haiti and Jamaica.

In 2008, Dato’ Zainol was appointed as Director General (Policy & Strategic Planning Department) and then as Director General (South East Asia Regional Centre for Counter Terrorism) in the following year, and subsequently as Deputy Secretary General II for Department of Multilateral Affairs. In 2010, he became Malaysia’s Ambassador to the Russian Federation.

Dato’ Zainol Abidin graduated with B.Sc. (Hons.) from University Malaya and a DPA from INTAN. For his contribution to the nation, Dato’ Zainol was conferred the Ahli Mangku Negara (AMN) in 2003 and Darjah Dato’ Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah (DSIS) in 2009.

Datuk Seri Mirza Mohammad Taiyab joined the Tourist Development Corporation Malaysia (TDC), as the organisation was known then, in 1982. He has been directly in charge of various key portfolios in Tourism Malaysia including advertising, international promotions, conventions, marketing support services, communication and domestic promotions.

His academic training, experience in the corporate world, and inclination to business and management, led the Board to appoint him as the General Manager of two international resorts, namely Langkawi Island Resort and Tanjung Jara Beach Resort, which were owned and managed by Tourism Malaysia then.

Datuk Seri Mirza headed the Tourism Malaysia office in Frankfurt in 1989, overseeing tourism promotion efforts in Germany, Austria, Italy and Switzerland, followed by his appointment as the director of Tourism Malaysia Tokyo office from 1995 to 2000. He was appointed as the Director General of Tourism Malaysia on 1 September 2006.

Datuk Seri Mirza graduated with a diploma in tourism administration and a bachelor degree in business administration. While in service, he continued his studies in business administration and received a master’s degree from Ohio University in 1993.

For his outstanding marketing efforts internationally, Datuk Seri Mirza was awarded the title of “Tourism Marketing Man of the Year” by the Pacific Area Travel Writers Association (PATWA) in 2004 during ITB Berlin. With such wide and extensive tourism-related experience, he has also been duly recognised for his excellent services. He was conferred the Ahli Mahkota Perak (AMP) award by the Sultan of Perak in 2003; the Johan Setia Mahkota (JSM) award by His Majesty DYMM Yang DiPertuan Agong in 2005; the Darjah Dato’ Setia DiRaja Kedah (D.S.D.K) award by the Sultan of Kedah in Jan 2016; and the Seri Mahkota Wilayah (SMW) award by His Majesty DYMM Yang DiPertuan Agong during Federal Territory Day on 1 Feb 2016.
